In this week’s MasterChef Junior episode, the Top 10 young cooks must impress some very influential, powerful women to earn a spot in the Top 8.
Ready for some girl power? This week’s MasterChef Junior episode has the young cooks whipping up a dinner for some very important guests. Will these young cooks feel the pressure for cooking for the famous dinner guests?
According to FOX, this week’s episode synopsis, “Girl Power” states:
"Karlie Kloss joins as a VIP Guest The Top 10 participate in the season’s most crucial team challenge when the MASTERCHEF JUNIOR restaurant opens its doors to a special group of VIP female role models. The team that dishes up the most impressive meal will go straight into the Top 8, but it’s going to take more than skill to win over this exclusive group of guests. The losing team will face a Gordon Ramsay masterclass in which they will be tasked with replicating a three-Michelin-star-rated dish. See who advances in the all-new “Junior Edition: Girl Power” episode of MASTERCHEF airing Tuesday, May 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."
Cooking for important guests can be tricky. Sometimes nerves can overtake the experience. Hopefully, these young cooks can forget about who they are cooking for and just cook.
Since the first challenge is a team challenge, the team dynamic will be important. As seen in previous episodes, the young cooks need to work together to produce the best possible meal.
While the first challenge will be entertaining, foodies will be focused on the Gordon Ramsay masterclass. These tantalizing demos are a must watch for anyone who wants to learn better cooking techniques and skills.

For the home cook, this video demonstrates key skills for cooking delicious scallops. First, the pan needs to be hot in order to get the perfect sear. Second, don’t crowd the pan. Lastly, it only takes a few minutes to cook a scallop.
While Gordon’s cooking demo seems relatively easy, this Michelin star dish is far from easy. It took a very long time to perfect the flavors and combinations in this dish. Although he breaks down the dish fairly simply, it will take some skill and patience to replicate. Hopefully, everyone is listening carefully.
