Restaurant Impossible Season 14 episode 4, “Fight at Filomena’s” preview
It is the last episode for the short Restaurant Impossible season. Can Robert find a way for this owner to finally pay herself an honest wage?
Restaurant Impossible has been focused on building better restaurant business and successful restauranteurs. In this week’s episode, an owner is struggling with making this restaurant a profitable business. Can Robert determine why this owner can’t pay herself a dime?
According to the Food Network, this week’s episode, “Fight at Filomena’s” synopsis states:
"Robert Irvine heads to Costa Mesa, California to help turn around the struggling Filomena’s Italian Kitchen and Market. Despite a clean kitchen, an organized dining room and allegedly good food, the fiery owner, Linda, hasn’t been able to pay herself one dime since the restaurant opened. Before Robert can do anything else, he first has to figure out the real problem with this restaurant and why it’s in trouble."
Based on this synopsis, Robert will need to uncover some real issues in this episode. When the problems focus on a dirty kitchen or an unorganized dining room, those fixes are tangible, manageable and reasonably easy to overcome.
Given this scenario, the problems might be significant. While the owner is described as fiery, that adjective doesn’t necessarily mean that she has a poor relationship with her staff. If she does, Robert will definitely step in and put that issue to rest.
In some cases, owners fail the business side of a restaurant. From proper food ordering to general expenses, a restaurant can be a cash cow. Restaurant owners need to understand the bottom line in order to make a business successful.

With the concept that the owner hasn’t paid herself at all, that scenario is quite concerning. Although the comment doesn’t say that the restaurant didn’t make a profit. Those two situations are quite different. Could there be a disconnect in simple business practices.
