The Great Food Truck Race is heading to the links in this week’s episode. Will Hilton Head Island inspire these food trucks to create some delicious Carolina barbecue?

The food trucks are rolling on The Great Food Truck Race. After last week’s premiere episode, the food trucks might have realized that this Food Network competition might be a more challenging then they had realized. Will the teams find their groove in this week’s episode?

According to the Food Network, this week’s episode, “Back Nine Barbecue” features the following:

"Eight food truck teams arrive at the prestigious Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, where Tyler Florence awaits on the 18th hole with a putting challenge and a mandate to sell classic Carolina barbecue. Then the teams head to Shelter Cove for two days of selling to hungry locals and tourists alike. Tyler throws a wrench in their plans when he devises a challenge with a South Carolina treat: boiled peanuts."

Looking at this week’s episode synopsis, the teams need to be well versed in Carolina barbecue. Remember, not all barbecue is the same. If the team cannot nail the flavor profiles in that style of barbecue, they may not be a top team.

Additionally, this challenge might be a stretch for Sol Food Collective. The vegan food truck will have to choose wisely in this challenge. Unlike the crab challenge from week one, they may not be able to completely skip this challenge. Could that cause them to be a bottom team?

For the second challenge of boiled peanuts, the teams need to be a little creative with this ingredient. While boiled peanuts can be a great snack, these food trucks need to do more than just serve up peanuts in a bowl.

Overall, the first episode showed that the teams could excel in selling their signature dishes. Compared to previous seasons, all the teams made great profits. It will be curious to see if that pattern continues.

On the opposite side, the teams learned that those food trucks can be tricky. From fender benders to equipment failures, nothing is ever easy on a food truck.
