The Great Food Truck Race Season 10 episode 6 “Shake Showdown” preview
With four food trucks left, The Great Food Truck Race is nearing the finish line. Can one food truck pull ahead of the competition in this week’s episode?
Which food truck will hit the target on this week’s The Great Food Truck Race? Each week, the food truck teams have been learning, growing and finding their groove. As the competition gets tougher, the food trucks need to up their game. But, one food truck team will have to turn in their keys at the end of this week’s episode.
According to Food Network, this week’s episode, “Shake Showdown” features:
"Tyler Florence makes the four remaining food truck teams throw javelins to determine their protein in a skewer challenge, and the winner gets to choose the team to pair up with for the day of selling in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A Sonic Drive-In shake challenge puts everyone’s sweet skills to the test and a thrilling elimination twist has the power to change everything."
A skewer challenge could be interesting. While there will only be four proteins, food fans can hope for something unusual. Let’s hope that the options are more than chicken, pork or shrimp.
More importantly in a skewer challenge, the flavors need to be creative. Putting a protein and vegetables on a stick isn’t creative or risky. Food trucks need to push the flavor envelope, especially at this stage of the competition.
As for the second challenge, it is interesting that this season has a Sonic challenge. Last year, Sonic drinks provided flavor inspiration for a challenge. This season’s challenge could be push the food trucks beyond their comfort zone.

Thinking about the four remaining food trucks, it makes sense that Nola Creations would do a beignet flavored shake. In many ways, this shake could be extremely popular.
The Brunch Babes could also do well with a shake challenge. Breakfast flavors work well in milkshakes. This challenge could be another chance for them to shine.
