Which MasterChef home cook is master of the flame? In this Backyard BBQ battle, these home cooks better answer the question, where’s the beef.

Ready for another MasterChef episode? In this week’s second episode, the home cooks must prove that they can tame the flame. Which home cook can prove their beef dish should keep them in the competition?

According to FOX, the “Backyard BBQ” episode synopsis states: “The home cooks have 60 minutes to present their best beef dish to the judges to stay in the competition; the judges spring another challenge on the contestants.”

Thinking about the beef challenge, the “best beef dish” is a very, very broad statement. Without any parameters, the judges really are comparing apples to oranges. How can a grilled ribeye be compared to a carne asada?

Hopefully, the beef challenge will have some clarification. Maybe everyone has to create a grilled steak dish. It would be nice to have Gordon or Aaron to do a demo. Those demos are great for the foodies watching at home. While I might not be able to re-create the dish exactly, there are many tips that are extremely helpful.

Whether the challenge is narrow or broad, the home cooks need to present their best dishes. A pedestrian beef dish isn’t going to cut it in MasterChef Season 10. These dishes need to be cooked properly, seasoned well and beautifully plated. All elements need to be on point.

At this point in the competition, it could be the time for the weaker home cooks to be eliminated. In theory, the challenges should start to get harder. The home cooks will be required to push beyond their comfort zone.

For example, Subha will have to be able to focus. Dorian cannot let her emotions overwhelm her cooking. Overall, these home cooks need to exhibit that they are learning in the MasterChef kitchen.

Will more home cooks be sent home after the “Backyard BBQ?” Here’s how to watch this episode.
