Starbucks Coffee Creamer is coming, but do we really need it?
Did you see that Starbucks Coffee Creamer is coming to your grocery store? Looking at the crowded coffee creamer section, is this product really necessary?
Announced today, Starbucks Coffee Creamer will be rolling out onto store shelves next month. Said to be available in three flavors, the Starbucks expansion is in partnership with Nestlé. While many Starbucks fans might be excited to fill the fridge with these coffee creamers, is the new product really necessary?
The new Starbucks Coffee Creamers will come in three flavors, “Caramel, White Chocolate, and Cinnamon Dolce.” These coffee creamers are inspired by “Caramel Macchiato, White Chocolate Mocha and Cinnamon Dolce Latte.” While these creamers might offer a similar taste to those hand-crafted beverages, it won’t be exactly the same coffee beverage that your local barista makes.
Granted, this expansion is good for the wallet. Spending large sums of money on your favorite Starbucks coffee every day can be a huge hit to the budget. If you can replace even one White Chocolate Mocha a week with a make-at home version, it is a win for the consumer. Still, do people really need another coffee creamer?
This product launch is in partnership with Nestlé. That brand produces Coffee Mate, which has numerous flavors in its coffee creamer line. From Snickers to even a Caramel Latte, this brand has several options that are very similar to these Starbucks creamers.

In some cases, people will flock to these Starbucks creamers because of the Starbucks name. It will be interesting to do a taste test of the Starbucks Caramel and the Coffee Mate Caramel Latte to see the similarities and differences. If you can’t tell the difference in a blind taste test, does the label really matter?
On a positive note, it is nice to see Starbucks launch a product related to coffee. While many people are obsessed with a colorful Frappuccino, those beverages seem separate from the “coffee” aspect of Starbucks. Sure the pictures might be enticing, the coffee is long forgotten.
While this new coffee creamer will likely be a huge hit, it will be interesting to see if Starbucks expands beyond the first three offerings. With PSL season quickly approaching, that flavor might be requested by fans. Who wouldn’t want to make their own PSL at home?
Starbucks Coffee Creamer will be available in the refrigerated section of grocery stores and other retailers. The exact price for each creamer was not available at the time of this publication.
Will you be searching for the Starbucks Coffee Creamer? Do you think this product launch was really needed?
