MasterChef Season 10 is down to the Top 10 home cooks. In this week’s episode, which team will race to victory and which one will be stuck in the pit?

Do these MasterChef home cooks feel the need for speed? In this week’s episode, “NASCAR – Finish Line Feed,” the home cooks can almost see the finish line, but will they finally learn to work together? Sometimes a team is only as strong as its weakest link.

According to FOX, this week’s episode synopsis states:

"The Top 10 contestants test their speed in a special team challenge, taking place in one of the most surprising locations of the season: Irwindale Speedway. The judges come racing to the home cooks in speedy race cars before introducing NASCAR driver Bobby Labonte. Told to break into two teams, the contestants are given 75 minutes to cook for 101 race car crew members. One team will woo the judges and secure safety for the week, the other team will face elimination in the all-new “NASCAR – Finish Line Feed” episode of MasterChef."

Looking at this synopsis, the team members will either make or break this challenge. As seen in all the previous team challenges, communication and a smart plan will set a team up for success.

Given that the teams have to make 101 plates of food, that scenario is a tall task. Everyone has to work in harmony to push out the food in a timely fashion. If one part of the line fails, everyone will be in the weeds.

After last week’s macarons challenge and his poor time management skills, Subha might be nearing his final days in the MasterChef kitchen. Although he knows and can develop great flavor, he gets very scattered and often can’t stay on task.

For the team that has Subha, they will need to manage him well. In previous team challenges, he was a big liability. Maybe someone he can have a task that is simple and keeps him out of trouble.

The other big factor in this challenge will be the dishes themselves. Given the time-frame and the number of plates, the teams need to pick a dish that they can execute. Too many garnishes or a difficult protein to cook simultaneous would be a poor choice.
