Celebrate Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival with a Master Sommelier

Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival is a highlight of the Fall at Walt Disney World, and what better way to celebrate than with a Master Sommelier!

Here at FoodSided we love a good wine. From white to red, rosé to champagne, we love it all. This year during Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival you have the chance to mix and mingle with one of wine’s brightest minds- George Miliotes, who also runs Wine Bar George at Disney Springs.

Fans of wine and Walt Disney World might know George from his previous ventures as part of the opening team of California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Now Wine Bar George has been open just over a year at Disney Springs we love wining and dining here. As the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival inches closer to starting we love that George himself will be part of the festival in more ways than one!

If you’re planning to enjoy wine at Epcot you’re going to want to check out Party for the Senses, where George and Executive Chef for Wine Bar George, Ron Rupert will be attending October 5. The party allows guests to try multiple dishes and drinks from critically acclaimed chefs from around Walt Disney World and the United States. While this party is an extra cost on top of your park ticket we think it’s a great way to enjoy some incredible food, drinks, live music and entertainment throughout the evening.

For guests who might not be so interested in a party atmosphere, a food and beverage pairing at Epcot might be just the right event. On October 26, George and Ron will be doing a live wine and beef pairing.

These pairings are an additional cost to at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival but we love that you get to go more in depth with wine here versus just having it being poured by a Cast Member at Epcot and having to keep moving through the park.

If your trip to Walt Disney World doesn’t include a trip to Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival but you are still interested in wine you’re going to want to stop by Wine Bar George at Disney Springs. Throughout the festival season they are featuring different wineries and wine makers in ticketed wine events at the restaurant, including Hennessy, Trimbach, Selbach, and Susana Balbo Wines. These events do sell out fast, so be sure to get your tickets as quickly as possible.

One of the real treats of doing a tasting at Wine Bar George is that the groups are typically small, so you really get to learn a lot about the different wines, about the restaurant, and ask as many questions as you would like.

Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival runs from August 29 through November 23, 2019.
