Food Network’s Chopped is getting a sweet twist. Chopped: Sweets Showdown challenges talented chefs to prove their dessert mastery.

Looking for some sweet inspiration? Chopped: Sweets Showdown could be your fall Food Network obsession. While sweet ingredients have been found in a Chopped basket, this five episode series is all about dessert. Which chefs can improvise the best?

This new Food Network show brings some of the classic elements of Chopped to a dessert challenge. Each round has a main sweet ingredient. The key will be how each chef transforms that ingredient into a totally new dessert.

Unlike other sweet focused Food Network challenges, this show should really push the chefs. Instead of focusing on the best visually impressive dessert or the best tasting dessert, these chefs need to challenge a lot of creativity.

Like in any Chopped challenge, the concept is to transform the ingredients into some different. For example, anyone can make a crumble out of a doughnut, but can they make an ice cream flavored like a doughnut? The chefs who can push themselves further should do well.

New to this Food Network show, each chef will have their own ice cream machine. While ice cream is often the downfall or the savor of a challenge, the multiple ice cream makers should make these challenges more interesting. Will someone make a stinky cheese ice cream?

Still, the challenges will be achievable. Food Network fans might like to see the occasional oops, but they never want to see a terrible fail. Foodies want to be inspired by these challenges. In many ways, these shows help foodies push themselves outside of their comfort zone.

Chopped: Sweets Showdown will premiere on the Food Network on Tuesday, October 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
