Ready for a new episode of Halloween Baking Championship? This week’s episode might have a frightening aroma filling the kitchen.

A new episode of Halloween Baking Championship is here. While the first episode of Season 5 might have needed a bolder approach, these seven bakers could be poised to bring out the big desserts. What scary treat could be lurking in the kitchen?

According to Food Network, this week’s episode, “Smells Like Halloween Spirit” synopsis states:

"In the pre-heat challenge, host John Henson asks the seven bakers to create spine-chilling desserts guided by spirits, such as bourbon and rum. Then they use fresh flavors and colorful decorations to bring old desserts back to life and impress judges Carla Hall, Katie Lee and Zac Young in the Day of the Dead main heat."

First a dessert based on a liquor should be quite straightforward. Many bakers know how to create something with liquor infused. It isn’t a new concept.

The key to the pre-heat will be creativity. Another chocolate and bourbon dessert is too boring. Who can pull out an unique twist on this type of dessert?

For the main heat, this challenge will require a lot of precision. Although the flavors will be key, the colorful Day of the Dead theme requires a deft hand.

The colorful sugar skulls will need to balance delicate and intricate. While colors tend to be vibrant, the bakers need to be careful. They cannot stray too far from the challenge’s theme.

Who will survive this week’s challenges and make the top six bakers? Here’s how to watch.
