Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles are combining two of KFC‘s most popular recent dishes into one epic meal.

Beginning Monday, November 18, they will be available as a meal (your choice of one breast, two thighs and a drumstick or a three piece tenders) served with a Belgian waffle, Mrs Butterworth’s syrup and a drink for $6.49.

A Big Basket combo meal features two waffles, two syrups, and the customer’s choice of two-piece white meat, three piece dark meat, or four tenders, plus a drink, for $8.49.

There is also a sandwich option available, with a Extra Crispy chicken filet doused with Nashville Hot sauce and served on two waffles with a side of syrup for $5.99, this sandwich can be a combo at $7.99.

It’s also possible to order any of these offerings without Nashville Hot sauce.

KFC introduced Nashville Hot Chicken to the menu in January 2016, and the Music City dish served with pickles became a favorite. Traditionally made with cayenne pepper, KFC’s version includes a smoky component as well.

“That dish says you’re in Nashville, that’s how we do things here,” award-winning chef Sean Brock told Time Magazine in an article about the regional favorite meal.

KFC introduced Chicken and Waffles to the menu in November 2018 for a limited time, bringing it back for a short while this past March.

According to PBS, chicken and waffles became a hallmark of Pennsylvania Dutch cookery, and then became a trendy dish among New York City’s jazz musicians in the late 1930s, where is how it gained the status of a special-occasion type of meal.
