Holiday Gingerbread Showdown premiere preview: Quite a tail?
Are you ready for the Holiday Gingerbread Showdown premiere? In this episode, tails will be wagging but are these treats more bark than their bite?
Holiday Gingerbread Showdown is back on the Food Network. In this week’s premiere episode, the bakers draw inspiration from man’s best friend. Could these bakers have a little “ruff” time with these tasty treats?
According to Food Network, this week’s episode, “Canine Christmas” synopsis states:
"Paige Davis unleashes the three bakers on a challenge to make gingerbread showpieces that tell quite a “tail,” and they also have to create holiday treats delicious enough to prove the bite is as big as their bark. Judges Mary Berg, Maneet Chauhan and Adam Young have a “ruff” time choosing a winner after tasting a Key lime fudge bite, gummy snowmen and a Mexican wedding cake dog bone."
First, Paige Davis moves from Trading Spaces to the Food Network holiday competition. It will be interesting to see how her personality works in this baking competition. While she can calm down those nervous homeowners, can she keep those bakers on track?
Second, the flavors in this week’s episode are quite bold. With a slightly tropical feel, the flavors are non-typical pairings for a gingerbread challenge.
Looking the three different tastings, the bakers will have to show their versatility. Although the Mexican wedding cake dog bone might be doable by these bakers, the gummy snowmen might prove problematic. A good gummy candy is never easy to make.
Lastly, Key lime fudge sounds quite intriguing. That perfect bite of sweet, tart and rich will take a deft hand. Are these bakers up for the challenge?
