Holiday Wars Season 1 episode 2 preview: Could you be an elf?

Who has the right stuff to be Santa’s next elf? Holiday Wars looks to answer that merry, amusing question in this week’s episode.

Holiday Wars kicked of this Food Network competition with little naughty treat, but this week’s episode looks to be slightly more amusing. While Santa might need a day (or two) off, he needs his elves to get in top shape for the holiday season. Which elf earns Santa’s top spot?

According to the Food Network, this week’s episode, “Elf Auditions” synopsis states:

"Host Jonathan Bennett challenges the four remaining teams of cake masters and sugar artists to create their most festive vision of how Santa Claus auditions his next crop of elves. Judges Shinmin Li and Jason Smith decide which team will be going home for the holidays."

After last week’s premiere, it is interesting to see how these teams are looking to set themselves apart. While the displays were impressive, the difference between teams came down to the tasting element.

With one team not creating the correct type of tasting treat, it showed that this element cannot be overlooked. Even though the display was good, all the elements must impress.

Given that the competition is still early, it is too difficult to determine which team could surge ahead. Overall, the teams are working well together and pushing the creativity level.

Looking at this particular theme, the key to this display will be the elves’ expressions. If they teams can create the right look, they will definitely have an advantage. Hopefully, these little elves are too naughty.
