The Holiday Baking Championship finale is here and one baker will be crowned the winner. Between Christmas brunch and plaid cakes, the finale challenges aren’t a cake walk.

Are you excited for the Holiday Baking Championship finale? This Food Network show has had a huge season. From twists on traditions to holiday pies, there have been many delicious holiday treats on display. But, to win the Holiday Baking Champion title, these bakers have to deliver the goods in the finale.

According to the Food Network, the finale, “Christmas Day Delights” synopsis states:

"Nothing beats waking up to the smell of a holiday brunch, so Jesse Palmer challenges the three remaining bakers to make a Christmas morning brunch using the classic holiday flavors of gingerbread, cinnamon and eggnog. In the final round, the bakers must create cakes that are plaid both on the inside and the outside. Judges Nancy Fuller, Duff Goldman and Lorraine Pascale crown one baker the Holiday Baking Champion and award the $25,000 prize."

The pre-heat challenge could inspire many people’s holiday brunch. While these holiday flavors are often incorporated into treats, the bakers need to find something creative and different. It will be interesting to see what the bakers create with these flavors.

As for the plaid cake, this challenge could be quite difficult. Creating a plaid cake both inside and out takes a lot of skill.

Check out this video from the former Holiday Baking Champion and Food Network personality, Jason Smith.

For a home cook to make a plaid cake, it will take a lot of skill. While Smith breaks down the concept, it is complicated. Everyone would be impressed with this cake when it is cut.

It will be interesting to see how different these plaid cakes are. While the decorations are all very different, the flavors might be as well. It would be nice to see how creative the bakers were with flavors, not just colors.

Lastly, it is the first time that three women bakers made the finale. It is a great statement that these women, who are all very different, are in the finale. All three are deserving of the title.
