Burger King understands that pop culture moments can sometimes become a distraction. When all that clowning around is too much, BK is coming to the rescue.

What can make a Burger King Whopper even tastier? For some people in the Bronx, BK is trying to make the New Year a little more bearable, and it is no funny business.

Occasionally, certain movies, television shows and even YouTube videos inspire people to recreate those pop culture moments. Everyone wants to have their photo, video and moment captured in “that” particular moment.

In some cases, that quiet, location is taken over. Instead of the regular people who live in the area being able to come and go as they please, those locals are weaving their way through everyone’s Instagram pictures.

The residents of the Bronx, by “those” stairs, are feeling overwhelmed, no joking. Burger King understands that clowns can be annoying and they want to make these residents feel better, with a free Whopper.

Check out this video.

From January 7 through January 12, residents near those Bronx stairs can get a free Whopper via Burger King and Uber Eats. At checkout, the code KINGSTAIRS to receive the free Whopper.

Although the Whopper is free, taxes, delivery fees and service fees apply. Also, if orders are under $10, a small order fee applies.

These types of special promotions are entertaining for brands. Burger King has always found ways to make comments about clowns. It is a subtle way for the brand to promote itself in the always competitive fast food wars.

Additionally, the rise of Uber Eats allows brands to create these special, limited promotions. Given how limited the special offer is, this promotion wouldn’t have been as easily applied without Uber Eats and its platform.

For those Bronx residents, near “those” stairs, the New Year could be a little better, no joking. Why not get a free Whopper and forget about all those clown photos.
