Girl Scout Cookie Championship premiere preview: Out of this world
Excited for the Girl Scout Cookie Championship premiere? For this episode, the talented backers look to take those classic Girl Scout cookies to a new level.
Girl Scout Cookie Championship and Food Network bring a new twist to Girl Scout cookie season. While those classic Girl Scout Cookies are iconic, could this new show give fans a new way of enjoying those iconic cookies? Maybe you should buy an extra box.
According to the Food Network, the Girl Scout Cookie Championship premiere episode features the following:
"Five professional bakers transform iconic Girl Scout Cookies into dozens of cookie pops inspired by outer space. Then they head to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, N.J., to sell their creations to a crowd of hungry cookie-lovers, including host Alyson Hannigan. The three bakers with the most votes from the crowd move on to create out-of-this-world cakes inspired by the solar system. They turn Girl Scout Cookies including Thin Mints, Tagalongs and Do-si-dos into spectacular cakes based on their favorite planet. Judges Nacho Aguirre, Paulette Goto and Katie Lee decide which baker reached for the stars and earned a dream outdoor adventure vacation and a year’s supply of Girl Scout Cookies."
Turning those Girl Scout Cookies into a cake pop is a great idea. Who hasn’t had to buy a third or fourth box of Thin Mints. Even though those cookies are tasty straight from the freezer, they can be incorporated into another dessert. Cake pops sound like a great idea.
The sale aspect to this challenge is interesting. Sometimes a dessert that appeals to a bigger audience may not be the judges’ favorite. The bakers will need to choose both the flavor and the design of the cake pops wisely.

For the second challenge, transforming the favorite Girl Scout Cookies into a cake sounds intriguing. While it doesn’t seem likely that the cake is a bunch of stacked cookies, it will be interesting to see how the flavors and textures are used in these themed cakes. It could be a bigger challenge than anyone anticipated.
