The NBA’s Miami Heat and restaurant Pollo Tropical have teamed up in a new partnership.

The NBA’s Miami Heat and the Caribbean restaurant chain Pollo Tropical are on the same team. This new partnership is going to be a slam dunk of deliciousness.

Both south Florida icons got started in 1988, and in the three-year agreement that sees Pollo Tropical become an official sponsor of the team, there will be in-game promotions during every home game at American Airlines Arena, special offers for Pollo Tropical loyalty members, and activities designed to help charities both parties assist with.

This partnership officially began with a special luncheon held last week as part of the Heat celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Week, with mascot Burnie and the Miami Heat Dancers acting as servers.

“Just like the Miami Heat, Pollo Tropical was founded in 1988 and has become an unforgettable staple for a generation of South Floridians,” Glen Oskin, Heat vice president of corporate sales, said in a press release. “We’re thrilled to team up and enhance the fan experience in-arena as well as provide South Floridians with memorable activations that will have a positive impact on our community.”

Pollo Tropical is known for their citrus-drenched chicken and pork dishes, with sides including three varieties of rice, beans and plantains, For more information, see their website. They have around 140 locations throughout Florida, Puerto Rico, as well as Central and South America.

“We are Miami, so it’s a natural fit for us to join forces with an organization that embodies the spirit of this city, just as we do through our authentic flavors and quality food,” Richard Stockinger, president and CEO of Pollo Tropical parent company Fiesta Restaurant Group, said in a press release.

The Dwayne Wade-era Heat won the 2006 NBA Finals in six games over Dirk Nowitski’s Dallas Mavericks, then went to four straight Finals appearances during the LeBron James era, losing to Dallas in six in 2011, defeating the Kevin Durant/Russell Westbrook/James Harden edition of the Oklahoma City Thunder in five in 2012 and Kawhi Leonard’s San Antonio Spurs in a full seven games in 2013 before falling to San Antonio in five in 2014.

They are currently leading the Eastern Conference’s Southeast Division with a record of 36-21 roughly three-quarters of the way through the 2019-20 season.
