Worst Cooks in America Season 18 episode 10: Finale is finally here

Only two recruits remain in Worst Cooks in America. After a chaotic season, could Alton Brown and his recruit create the ultimate upset?

To the delight of Alton Brown, Worst Cooks in America Season 18 has reached its finale. While the recruits have accomplished much this season, both Anne Burrell and Alton have been pushed to their limit with these cooking disasters. Have either of the finalists really gone from worst to first?

According to the Food Network, this week’s Worst Cooks in America episode, “The Final Countdown” features the following:

"The final two recruits get private cooking lessons from Alton Brown and Anne Burrell and learn to make a dish of their choosing. Then Alton and Anne teach their recruits how to make a three-course, restaurant-quality meal. For the main dish challenge, the two finalists put all their new culinary skills to the test in order to impress judges Kelly Choi, Brian Mazza and Jet Tila, who do a blind taste test and determine the winner of the $25,000 prize."

First, the private cooking lesson might be the best part of the episode. While Alton might not be a chef, he has a tremendous amount of food knowledge. Anyone should be able to benefit from his insight. Hopefully, everyone is taking good notes.

For Anne’s cooking lesson, she can adapt her food experience to teach almost anyone to cook. Anne has proven her talent’s in previous Worst Cooks seasons. Sometimes, this show is as much about strategy as it is about cooking execution.

In the last challenge, this three course meal might be either great or an absolute disaster. Based on the synopsis, it is unclear if the recruits are judged on an entire meal or just the main course. Could it be that neither recruit finished the whole final challenge?

Given the numerous disasters in this season, it could be possible that the two remaining recruits might not be ready for such a big challenge. It seems doubtful that either one will be making another appearance on a Food Network show.

Hopefully, the final two (any maybe a few more recruits) learned enough this season to ensure that they don’t make their families sick with their food. That accomplishment might be enough for Worst Cooks in America Season 18.
