Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart is the food escape we need

Finally camp that everyone wants to attend. Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart is the Food Network culinary challenge for every aspiring baker.

Summer camp can be a right of passage and Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart is the baking competition that will have Food Network fans glued to the screen. Who wishes that Martha Stewart was their camp counselor?

Baking competitions are extremely popular on Food Network. Whether it is the seasonal baking championships or best bakers, foodies love watching these types of culinary competitions.

Over the years, Martha Stewart has grew her popularity immensely. While she has always been a lifestyle guru, she has captivated the pop culture world. From her Pot Luck show with Snoop Dogg to her more candid demeanor, people cannot get enough of Martha.

“As a renowned baker armed with a one of a kind sense of humor, Martha Stewart is everything you can ask for in a camp director,” said Courtney White, President, Food Network. “Viewers get to witness the adoration these bakers have for Martha, as they are transported out of their environment and into the outdoors to participate in unique challenges with a chance to receive mentorship from the legend herself.”

In Bakeaway Camp with Martha Stewart, six amateur bakers get an opportunity of a lifetime. Instead of a traditional studio, the bakers must brave outdoor elements in this master bake-off. As Camp Director Martha Stewart oversee the activities, she is joined by fellow “counselors” Carla Hall and Dan Langan.

The new Food Network show will have four episodes in the first season. In each episode, there are two rounds. The challenges are part baking boot-camp and part camp-inspired games.

Similar to other Food Network competitions, the winner of each pre-heat gets an advantage. In this case, the reward in a personal one-on-one mentoring session with Martha.

The difference in this Food Network competition is that the bakers have to handle the elements. Whether it is an errant rain storm or a swarm of bees, the elements can play havoc on their desserts.

Only one baker will be crowned Bakeaway Camp Champion. Bakeway Camp with Martha Stewart premieres on Monday, May 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
