White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies

The recipe for White Chocolate Macadamia cookies needs mostly basic ingredients, with the exception of the white chocolate chips and the nuts. Otherwise, flour, sugar, powders and butter make this a quick and easy recipe to prepare. The dough is simply dropped on to a sheet for baking once it is mixed.

White chocolate offers a very sweet addition to a basic vanilla dough. White chocolate is a refined taste, or maybe not refined but distinct. I know of several people in my house (cough everyone but me cough) who claim it is too sweet and/or they just don’t like the flavor. Oh well, more for me.

Sour Cream Cookies

The addition of sour cream to this cookie recipe makes the end result moist, soft and delicious. The sour cream balances the sugar content, so it’s not an overpowering sweet cookie like some other recipes are. The Sour Cream Cookies are from an old recipe, probably after World War II in the US when ingredients became plentiful and more bakers were baking!

Sour Cream cookies only require basic ingredients plus the sour cream in order to make. They are a drop cookie, but have an icing on top, which requires another step once the cookies are baked. The icing is a thin glaze, sometimes flavored orange or lemon and drizzled over the cookie.
