Top Chef All Stars LA Season 17 episode 4 preview: It’s fresh

Top Chef All Stars LA has left the art world behind and it ready to be inspired by music. With a Quickfire based on Trolls World Tour and a trip to Santa Monica Farmers Market, will the chefs find harmony in all the color or will the mixture cause a big clash?
According to Bravo, this week’s Top Chef All Stars LA episode, “You’re So Fresh” features the following:
"Kelly Clarkson drops into the Top Chef kitchen for a Quickfire based on her new movie, Trolls: World Tour, where the chefs are tasked with combining colorful ingredients from six different musical ‘lands’ to make one delicious dish. For the Elimination Challenge, the chefs are split into two teams to create a cohesive, progressive vegetarian meal for Padma, Tom, Gail and James Beard nominated guest judge Jeremy Fox. The catch is they won’t know what ingredients they’ll be working with until the morning of the challenge when they shop exclusively at the Santa Monica Farmers Market."
For the Quickfire challenge, the chefs need to be smart with their choices. As seen in last week’s episode, a colorful plate of food needs to be flavorful. While people eat with their eyes, the flavor is still the most important part.
Also, this Quickfire seems to be a challenge about combining ingredients. The chefs need to use their food knowledge to make smart combinations. Just like a good song, all the notes need to be in harmony for the flavor to hit the right notes.
Looking at the Elimination Challenge, this concept is something that many chefs do on a daily basis. Using the farmers market as dish inspiration is important for many chefs. Sometimes ingredients need to drive a dish more than just an idea for a dish.

Based on preview videos, the Elimination Challenge will cause some fighting. Whether Brian really throws Lee Anne under the bus remains to be seen. Still, team challenges mean that the chefs need to put their egos in check, if that is possible.
