Top Chef All Stars LA Season 17 episode 8 preview: Restaurant Wars time
The fan favorite episode is back. Top Chef All Stars LA is ready for Restaurant Wars, but will these pop-up restaurants really come to life?
Since Top Chef All Stars LA is pushing these favorite chefs throughout the season, Restaurant Wars is going to be bigger than ever. While the two restaurant concepts have been decided, these dinner services may not be picture perfect. Will everyone actually get their food?
According to Bravo, this week’s Top Chef All Stars LA episode, “Restaurant Wars” features the following:
"It’s Restaurant Wars and this season Padma takes all the limitations off the table as the chefs can make as much food as they want and shop wherever they choose. The two winning chefs from last week’s concept challenge are given 48 hours to pick their teams and make the restaurants they pitched come to life."
If you watched last week’s episode, you know Kevin and Gregory will be team captains. Both of their restaurant concepts are quite different. Add to that aspect the prospect of no limitations, this season’s Restaurant Wars could be chaos.
Based on a few of the preview videos, it seems that one team struggles tremendously. It isn’t that these chefs do not know how to run a restaurant. The time constraints and the personalities make this challenge extremely difficult.
While it is impossible to predict the outcome of any Restaurant Wars, the team who is smart with its choices will do well. It isn’t about which team can have the biggest or most ambitious menu. It is about executing in the moment.

Without revealing the teams, it could come down to leadership. Most likely, Kevin and Gregory will have different leadership styles. As long as the team works together and communicates, the team can be set up for success.
Of course, one position usually is the fall chef in Restaurant Wars. The front of the house needs to smile through the chaos. Although one restaurant isn’t called Flustercluckers, the ambiance might resemble that name.
