Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition premiere: How bad are they?
Bad dishes are back. Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition returns with an all new boot camp and a group of celebrities hoping to learn how to cook.
Ready for more cooking disasters? Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition has returned with even more culinary catastrophes. While these celebrities might have accolades in their careers, their kitchen creations may not be five stars. Can they find some redemption in the kitchen?
According to the Food Network, the Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition “Famous Dish-aster” features the following:
"Chef Anne Burrell and Chef Tyler Florence are back in boot camp to whip seven of the worst celebrity cooks in America into culinary shape. But before the chefs can pick their teams, they want to see what skills — or lack of skills — they’re working with. For the baseline challenge, the recruits are tasked with making their go-to dish for a dinner party. After the recruits are split into teams, the chefs show them how to cure those dinner party dish-asters with a delicious boozy brunch that they must replicate in order to stay in the competition."
Thinking about the first challenge of a go-to dish for a dinner party, this challenge could be quite revealing. Do you think that celebrities really make a dish for a dinner party or do they cater?
Since this first challenge is a baseline scenario, the cooking will probably be really bad. If any celebrity can make an edible dish, it might be a miracle.
As for the second challenge, the challenge is similar to other Worst Cooks type challenges. The first challenge is basically a time to test how well the celebrities listen and apply the instructions. Just like learning a set of lines, accuracy, not necessarily interpretation, is key.
Lastly, it is nice to see Chef Anne Burrell and Chef Tyler Florence back together. Although Alton Brown brought a little vigor to this Food Network show, his brand of humor may not have been appreciated by the celebrity cooks. Sometimes a little tough love is not celebrity friendly.
