Sometimes, a donut is more than a sweet treat. The Tim Hortons United Donut celebrates and benefits health care workers.

Need a reason to enjoy a donut? Tim Hortons United Donut is a perfect reason to order another donut and support a great cause. Starting on May 14, this special United Donut benefits health care workers. How many dozens are you ordering?

According to Tim Hortons, the United Donut is a white fondant donut covered with red, white and blue sprinkles. While the donut is colorful, the donut has a worthy cause, “100% of the proceeds from United Donut sales will go to Covenant Health Care, Mercy Hospital and Beaumont Health Foundation, ECMC and Kaleida Health Foundation.”

This new donut is another example of Tim Hortons giving back to health care workers. Previously, the company has provided free coffee to healthcare workers via delivery in some locations. Sometimes that extra cup of coffee can make the day seem less bleak.

Sometimes the little gestures can mean a lot. While many people cannot step into a health care worker’s shoes, everyone can do something to support those brave men and women. From the nightly moments of appreciation to buying a donut, it is a way that people can feel involved and grateful.

Looking at this donut, why not order the special United Donut instead of another option. Even if you always pick the same donut, the cause behind this donut is important. Given that the donuts give back, it is a reason to buy another sweet treat and break from the norm.

The Tim Hortons United Donut will be available May 14 through May 17. A donut retails for $1.49. These donuts cannot be ordered via delivery or via mobile orders.
