After surviving week one of Worst Cooks in America, these celebrities are ready to race to the head of the pack. Can they “steak” their claim for a victory?

Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition is back and these recruits have a lot to learn. After last week’s introduction to the Food Network kitchen, these recruits learned that cooking is not just cocktails and dinner parties. Who will be the first person to leave the Food Network kitchen?

According to the Food Network, this week’s Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition, “Day at the Races” features the following.

"The celebrity recruits enter boot camp to see chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence sporting fabulous derby hats! In honor of the Triple Crown, the recruits enter a race of their own to test how well they can identify and put together flavors on a crostini. For the main dish challenge, the chefs show the recruits how to make a fancy steak dinner worthy of any celebrity table. The least-successful recruits face a blind elimination challenge where the “steaks” have never been higher."

Asking these celebrities to identify flavors could be quite challenging. After last week’s preliminary challenge, they may not be able to taste and identify flavors. While some recruits made edible dishes, others could not put together a decent dish. It is time to put away the red pepper flake.

Looking at the celebrities in this season, it is really hard to pick a favorite. Even though Robin and Dave were picked first, they struggled. From being frazzled to just running out of time, even the better cooks need some guidance in the kitchen.

For this week’s challenges, a crostini should be an appetizer that all the cooks can accomplish. The idea is to create a small bite, on bread, that is flavorful yet not overpowering. Although bruschetta is an obvious choice, it will be interesting to see what these cooks can create.

In the main challenge, steaks could be quite difficult. A perfectly cooked steak is a skill. Although Johnny Bananas might know the feel of a perfectly cooked steak, the flavor needs to be perfect. These cooks better make sure that the steak is seasoned.
