Sonic brownie and cake batter shakes sound amazing
The new Sonic brownie and cake batter shakes sound amazing.
Summertime is a good time for ice cream and milkshakes, so the new Sonic brownie and cake batter shakes sound terrific. Ready to head America’s Drive In?
According to Delish, the Brownie Batter Shake combines vanilla ice cream and chocolatey brownie batter, which sounds delicious, as the flavors and textures seem like they will complement each other well. The only way it could probably be better would be if it were actual brownie chunks instead of brownie batter.
This is a new item this year, joined by the returning Yellow Cake Batter Shake, which has vanilla ice cream mixed with yellow cake batter. This shake made its menu debut last summer, and seems like a good fit if you have been enjoying the sugary overload of Whataburger’s Dr Pepper shake, which also showed up for the first time during summer 2019.
“We’ve captured the fun and thrill of baking with family into two creamy, sippable versions every dessert lover will find irresistible,” Scott Uehlein, Sonic vice president of corporate innovation and development, said in a press release.
Though the Oklahoma City-based drive-in chain is more known for chili cheese dogs, onion rings and cherry limeades, they’ve been focusing on the drinks lately, emphasizing the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Blast, which features both chopped-up Reese’s and Reese’s Pieces, and the Red Bull Summer Edition Watermelon Slush, which hit the menu in April.
Sonic is the leisurely kind of restaurant you go to when you want something out of the ordinary, with nearly-endless drink customization options and a budget-friendly Happy Hour from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with half-price drinks and slushes, is another big draw.
These sweet treats are only available until Sunday, August 2, so enjoy the Sonic brownie and cake batter shakes while you can! If you enjoy one, be sure to use the hashtag #FoodSided on your social media posts.
