In this Gordon Ramsay Uncharted episode, Guyana proves to be quite an adventure.

For some foodies, this Gordon Ramsay Uncharted episode might push the culinary adventure a little too far. While resourcefulness proves to be an important chef’s tool, these ingredients might be a little too exotic for the home cook. Still, there are a few tricks that any aspiring cook can appreciate.

According to National Geographic, here are some hints that viewers can expect in Gordon Ramsay Uncharted Guyana.

"In the Amazon Basin, Gordon finds a wealth of opportunities to create his spin on traditional Guyanese cuisine. The fusion of Caribbean, Indian, and European cultures, but the origins of Guyanese cuisine lie deep in the dense rainforest of the Amazon basin with Guyana’s Amerindian people, where everything—including the wildlife and produce—can be deadly."

As seen in many of the episode previews, the idea of eating a gigantic spider holds no appeal for many people. Even as people hide their eyes while looking at this segment, there is a lesson to be learned.

Granted, most people will avoid insects at all costs, but food can be found anywhere. If you live in the jungle, there isn’t a convenience store around the corner. Maybe people can be more thoughtful with that strange looking fruit or unlikely protein in the butcher case. Food, when cooked well, can be tasty.

While those shocking moments will get people talking, there is a bigger item in this episode. Food needs to be treated with care. Just like how under-cooked chicken can make you sick, other foods hold the same concerns. Sometimes all the flare and fun can lose sight of that concept.

Still, the main dish from this episode, Chicken Pepper Pot is a dish (with some modifications) that can be made at home. It is a glimpse to how cultures and cuisines can come together.

While Guyana might not be the huge tourist destination for some foodies, the glimpse from this episode could make it a new place to visit. From the blending of cultures to the exotic locale, another culinary adventure awaits.
