Dragonfruit Freeze leads new Taco Bell menu launch
A Dragonfruit Freeze is leading the charge of new Taco Bell menu items.
After drastically trimming their menu slate a few months ago, Taco Bell has new items available, with the Dragonfruit Freeze leading the way.
The Dragonfruit Freeze is a nationwide release featuring a tropical flavor blast from a dragonfruit base followed up by a blast of pink dragonfruit flavoring. It comes in Regular for $2.39 and Large for $2.59, and is $1 during Happier Hour (2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at participating locations).
This could be interesting blast of icy sweetness, since dragonfruit is an exotic flavor that has been trending among restaurants this summer.
Due to COVID pandemic precautions, all freezes will now be served with flat lids.
Since a tasty drink is nice but not all that filling, the new Grande Stacker Box combo should pair nicely.
The Grande Stacker features seasoned beef, a three-cheese blend consisting of cheddar, mozzarella and pepper jack, and then a warm nacho cheese sauce. This is then grilled and paired with two crunchy tacos and a medium drink for $5.
The Grande Stacker can also be ordered by itself for $2.49, which could be a nice alternative gameday meal as the NBA, NHL and NASCAR all wrap up their playoffs, while college football and the NFL are starting to get in a good rhythm.
And speaking of college football, Taco Bell fans among the University of Tennessee faithful will have the opportunity to be Volunteers in a different capacity, as Knoxville is the test site location for a new item called a Quesalupa, the newest Chalupa entry..
The Quesalupa begins with a deep fried shell that’s stuffed with a cheesy pepper jack/mozzarella blend, then is piled up with seasoned beef, shredded lettuce, reduced-fat sour cream, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. There’s also a vegetarian option where black beans replace the beef, which is helpful.
A Quesalupa combo comes with two crunchy tacos and a large drink for $6.99, or it can be ordered on its own for $2.99.
The Quesalupa sounds like an amazing addition to the Chalupa lineup, and I’m hoping it will go national in the future.
