Holiday Baking Championship Season 7 episode 2: Feeling the gratitude
Holiday Baking Championship takes on Thanksgiving pies and stuffed cakes.
After a two-hour season premiere, Holiday Baking Championship asks the remaining bakers to tackle an always difficult Food Network challenge. While many people are grateful during the holiday, a team challenge could test everyone’s patience. Could bickering lead someone to the naughty list?
According to the Food Network, this Holiday Baking Championship episode, “Plenty of Gratitude,” features the following:
"Everyone has a different favorite pie for Thanksgiving, so for the pre-heat, the eight bakers work in teams to make four different kinds of pies … on the same sheet pan! In the main heat, the bakers embrace the stuffed feeling after the Thanksgiving meal by making stuffed cakes featuring seasonal ingredients."
In the pre-heat, this challenge could test everyone’s nerves in the kitchen. While previous Holiday Baking Championship seasons have tackled this challenge, the team aspect makes it quite difficult. If those pies do not go well together, many bakers could plummet to the bottom of the naughty list.
For the main heat, stuffed cakes could be quite interesting. While it is fun to see tasty treats coming from the middle of the cake, the truth is that the cake needs to be more than a fun visual.
Additionally, the seasonal flavors could be way for the bakers to show their creativity. Although flavors like pumpkin spice, peppermint and gingerbread seem likely, a few other options could be on the plate. Cranberry, walnut or even chestnut might be a nice change of pace.
