As many people devour reveals from Universal Studios Japan, the Super Nintendo World Kinopio’s Café looks to balance visual delights with food creativity. While these treats might be almost too adorable to eat, the flavor will implore people to take another bite.
Recently revealed by Universal Studios Japan, Kinopio’s Café takes some inspiration from the Mario world. While Kinopio is toad in Japanese, toads are not on the menu. But, many of the dishes feature iconic Mario imagery as well as mushrooms.
Universal Japan revealed three dishes, a Mario Bacon Cheeseburger, Super Mushroom Pizza Bowl, Piranha Plant Caprese and ? Block Tiramisu. These food items are just a sampling of the menu that will be available.
The visuals will be draw people to try these tasty treats. The visual has become a huge component of theme park food. Guests want foods that reflect the experience. In this case, the food looks like it could be part of the Mario world.
Also, those picture perfect social media shares have become the staple of a theme park visit. Who hasn’t snapped a photo in front of a sign with that tasty dessert? Just think of the food envy that people will have.
While the visual is important, theme park food has come a long way and these menu items showcase that idea. One interesting aspect is the use of mushrooms in many of the dishes.
In addition to the Mario component, mushrooms are predicted to be a food trend. Some people are eating more mushrooms for the super food nutritional benefits. Also, mushrooms are an easy swap for plant-based dishes. They are hearty and offer a lot of flavor.
Although Super Nintendo World will be a huge opening event for Universal Japan, some people will have to wait awhile to visit. But, these food items could inspire some creativity at home.
