Worst Cooks in America Season 21 episode 3: Getting saucy
In this Worst Cooks in America episode, the recruits are getting saucy.
For the remaining recruits, Worst Cooks in America will give them a cooking lesson that many home cooks would want to master. Can you make a sauce from scratch?
According to the Food Network, this Worst Cooks in America episode, “Sauce Boss” features the following:
"Boot camp gets a retro, ’80s makeover, and the recruits use their palates and culinary senses to learn about different sauces in a zany “Balls to the Wall” game. Then chefs Anne Burrell and Carla Hall teach their recruits how to make meatballs and sauce from scratch. In the main challenge, the recruits are tasked with making the ultimate saucy dish, enchiladas. Unfortunately, the fiesta is over for the two recruits with the least successful dishes."
For some home cooks, the homemade sauce is the ultimate recipe. Whether it is grandma’s Sunday gravy that has taken decades to master or a riff on a chef’s recipe, sometimes the sauce makes the dish. If a home cook can master a great sauce, she is on the road to being a good home.
One of the keys to a great sauce is building flavors. It takes time to develop a flavor. This cooking lesson might be must watch food television for any home cook.
Thinking about the second challenge, enchiladas are not an easy task. Even if the recruits master the meatballs and sauce, it isn’t exactly the same as making enchiladas. Not all sauces are the same.
The key to doing well in the main challenge will be listening to Anne and Carla. The recruit who makes goods notes, takes her time and follows the plan will do well. Going back to the basics can be key to a successful dish.
Which recruit will get sauced from the competition? Here’s how to watch.
