Coca-Cola with Coffee refreshes the coffee routine
As Coca-Cola with Coffee and Coca-Cola with Coffee Zero Sugar hits the store shelves, that coffee beverage routine is getting a makeover. Now that caffeine fix is as easy as popping open a can.
Beverage trends are constantly evolving. That black coffee might be some people’s traditions, but others find it boring. While there are many sweet or flavored coffee options, sometimes coffee drinkers want something more. Maybe a little effervescence could be the exciting perk to start the day.
The new coffee cola offering has 69 mg of caffeine per 12 oz can. To put that number in comparison, a K-Cup generally has about 75-150 mg per cup (according to the Center for Science in the Public Interest). While there are beverages with higher and lower caffeine content, this beverage isn’t necessarily about the caffeine boost. It is about the coffee flavor.
Has there been a Coca-Cola with coffee before?
The combining Coca-Cola and coffee has been done by people on their own. Some people have taken to adding an espresso shot to that cola beverage. For people who like both beverages, it was a combination that they appreciated.
With the two new Coca-Cola with Coffee beverages now available in stores, many people will want to get a taste. Last year, as part of the Coca-Cola Insiders Club, a few people (including myself) were able to sip the combination beverage.
After enjoying this beverage, the flavor is more Coke forward with coffee finish. The coffee flavor seems to balance the sweetness of the Coke.
Thinking about the new beverages, there are many flavors in the offering. In addition to the Zero Sugar options, there are some flavored options too. If you prefer sweeter drinks, the vanilla would be a great choice to try.
Although this drink isn’t necessarily about the caffeine boost, it is about a different way to enjoy two beverages that you like. Whether it is an option when you don’t want a hot beverage or an afternoon when you’re thirsty, the new beverage is definitely worth having a few in the refrigerator.
As part of the beverage launch, Coca-Cola joined with Walmart and DroneUp to make a special delivery to Coffee County, Georgia. Select customers can opt-in for that special deliveries.
