Instead of popping some bubbles, these romantic cocktails are the perfect sip to savor while watching some favorite romantic comedies. Whether you are watching the movie with a special someone, a group of friends or just curling up on the couch by yourself, these cocktails and movies will make it a night to remember.

Recently, Lillet Brand Ambassador Lauren Trickett looked to nine different romantic comedies as inspiration for some romantic cocktails. Trickett referenced a specific moment or scene. Even if that reference isn’t your favorite part of the movie, it can be a reason to take a sip or two of these special cocktails.

At the same time, these cocktails can be enjoyed without those romantic comedies playing on the screen. Many of the lower ABV cocktails would make for a lovely apertif, brunch cocktail or even just a mid-afternoon libation. Truthfully, an excuse to enjoy a great cocktail is always a good thing.

Romantic cocktails with a classic side

Sleepless in Seattle and The Classic Spritz

Many people have dreamed of that moment on the top of the Empire State Building all the stars align and that love affair takes the next step. From the location to the sentiment is is a classic moment that seems to draw people to romantic comedies.

Trickett used the top of the Empire State Building moment as her reference for the Classic Spritz.

  • 3 parts  Lillet Blanc or Lillet Rose
  • 3 parts  Tonic water

  • Combine all ingredients over ice in a wine glass

Express the romance with Bridgerton and A Sudden Blush

If you haven’t watched (and re-watched) Bridgerton, you might be in the minority. Sometimes the tension in a romantic comedy makes that that big moment even more pleasurable.

For this romantic cocktail, Trickett suggests a rosey-pink cocktail with a little extra effervescence from sparkling wine. With everything bubbling under the surface, it seems that romance is getting a little heated.

  • 2 parts Lillet Rose
  • 1 part London Dry Gin
  • 1 part fino sherry
  • 1 part raspberry puree
  • 1 part grape fruit juice

  • Combine all ingredients over large blocks of ice in a pitcher. Garnish the pitcher with mint, raspberries and blackberries.
  • To serve, pour into rocks glasses filled with ice. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with a mint sprig and blackberry.

Romance can be a fresh squeeze with Notting Hill and Market Spritz

Sometimes a certain chain of events need one incident to fall into place. In Notting Hill, if it wasn’t for that spilled orange juice, Anna would have never been that girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.

  • 3 parts Lillet Blanc
  • 2 parts Tangerine Juice
  • 2 parts sparkling wine

  • Combine all ingredients over ice in a wine glass
  • Garnish with orange wheel

More romantic cocktails to have what she’s having

Crazy Stupid Love might just be a Party Trick

Even though love might be blind, it can often make you do stupid things. Inspired by that Dirty Dancing lift in the movie, this cocktail is made to impress (and nothing will go wrong).

  • 1 part Lillet Blanc
  • 1 ½  parts Rabbit hole Rye
  • 3  dashes peach bitters

  • Stir all ingredients over ice and strain over large ice cube in rocks glass

  • 3 parts Belgian style wheat ale
  • 2 parts sparkling lemonade

  • Build in glass over ice
  • Garnish with orange wheel

Legally Blonde and Think Pink rise to the top of the class

Although you don’t have to have pink, rose scented napkins to use with this cocktail, a little flashy style can set a cocktail apart from others. This cocktail is fruity, fun and not too serious.

  • 5 parts strawberry hard seltzer

  • Build in glass over lots of ice and fresh strawberries
  • Garnish with sliced strawberries

How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days  gives life to Love Fern

This cocktail bounces from flavor to flavor. Similar to the relationship between Andie and Ben, the cocktail goes through ups, downs and ends on a refreshing note.

  • 2 parts Lillet blanc
  • 1 part cynar
  • ¾ part lemon juice
  • 10 mint leaves

  • Shake all ingredients over ice and strain into bucket glass with fresh ice.

The Proposal asks do you Rosemary and Blanc?

Adding herbs, like rosemary, can bring a bold, unabashed flavor. Just like Marget and Grandma Annie dancing in the woods, it is bold yet sweet. In some ways, it is that perfect balance that keeps you going back for more.

  • 2 parts Lillet blanc
  • 1 part Malfy Rosa gin
  • ¾ part lime juice
  • ½ part simple
  • 2 parts soda water
  • Fresh rosemary

  • Shake all ingredients (except soda water) with ice, strain over fresh ice into bucket glass and top with soda.
  • Garnish with fresh rosemary sprig

These romantic cocktails are just a few suggestions to pair with romantic movies. Whether you enjoy one of these cocktails, a glass of wine or just your favorite beverage, take a moment to sit back and laugh. Life’s little pleasures are meant to be celebrated.
