Denny’s Welcomes New Comfort Foods: Melts, Bowls and a ‘Skookie’

Sooner or later, we’re going to have to suit up in those skinny jeans (even if Gen Z doesn’t agree), but before we do, Denny’s is giving us the ultimate comfort food experience with the addition of four new Melts & Bowls available nationwide.

The Nashville Hot Chicken Melt is a golden-fried chicken breast tossed in Nashville hot sauce with Swiss cheese, tomato, pickles and mayo on grilled Texas toast, accompanied by wavy cut fries. Denny fans can also upgrade their wavy cut fries to seasoned fries, beer-battered onion rings or seasonal fruit. Ok, Googling the closest restaurant ASAP.

The Big Dipper Melt is a tender pot roast with melted Swiss cheese, caramelized onions, and mayo on grilled Texas toast, served with French onion au jus for dipping and a side of wavy-cut fries. The cheese and bread alone have us sold on this big dipper.

The Mama D’s Pot Roast Bowl is a slow-cooked pot roast atop red-skinned mashed potatoes with roasted carrots, celery, and onions, smothered in rich gravy, paired with dinner bread. Assuming it’s acceptable to eat gravy outside of Thanksgiving, right?

The Chicken Addiction Bowl is a seasoned grilled chicken breast over whole grain rice and broccoli with grilled mushrooms and creamy Alfredo sauce, paired with dinner bread. This sounds like a creamy, flavor-rich dream!

For those who can’t get enough of Denny’s famous Moons Over My Hammy sandwich, guests can now ‘Slam It!’ for a double serving of ham, eggs and cheese. Sounds like a meal you might need before a big game.

And because no meal is complete without a little treat, Denny’s is offering the NEW Signature Skookie, a warm chocolate chip cookie filled with molten chocolate and topped with premium vanilla ice cream and salted caramel, all served in a personal skillet. Yes, we are literally drooling over here!
