Spring Baking Championship Season 7 is ready to embrace Spring and all its tasty food and flavors. While some springtime celebrations are well known, the Food Network baking competition is ready to explore some spicy and silly food treats that may not be on everyone’s table.

According to the Food Network, Spring Baking Championship Season 7 episode 2, “Spring Celebrations” features the following:

"The bakers celebrate the vibrant colors of spring as host Ali Khan challenges them to make colorful and spicy sweets for Holi, an ancient Hindu festival known as “the festival of spring.” Then the competitors hope to impress judges Kardea Brown, Nancy Fuller and Duff Goldman and have some fun with cheeky leprechauns as they use a spring green ingredient to create a leaping leprechaun dessert for St. Patrick’s Day."

Thinking of the pre-heat challenge, this particular theme is a new concept for Spring Baking Championship. While the Food Network show has tackled unlikely flavor combinations and even some food trends, introducing Holi is interesting. While the dessert flavors might be similar to other treats and traditions, showcasing global traditions can show similarities across the globe.

For the main heat, a leaping leprechaun dessert could push the decorating bakers’ decorating skills. Similar to last episodes dancing cows, it appears that this season has the bakers showcasing their creativity. While these leprechauns need to be cheeky, they should probably be kid friendly, too.

Since the Spring Board is ranking the bakers each week, it will be curious to see if there are any big switches in the leaders. While the pre-heat might focus on a holiday celebration that is not familiar to some, the bakers should be able to adapt to the flavors of the challenge. Each of these bakers should be able to make spicy sweets. Being able to adapt ingredients is part of winning Spring Baking Championship Season 7. Or, did the leprechaun cause mischief in the kitchen?
