The new Oreo Big Scoop Cookie Sundae is the latest tasty treat on the dessert menu at Sonic Drive-In.

It stars a vanilla ice cream base, topped with hot fudge, cookie dough bits and chunks of Oreo cookies, then crowned with a scoop of cookie dough with Oreo chunks inside.

The Oreo Big Scoop Cookie Sundae is available at participating locations for a limited time until Sunday, May 2 for $2.99. For the latest menu information and locations near you, see their website for more details.

While cookies are awesome by themselves, and possibly the perfect snack, adding them into ice cream is always a win, and especially so when Oreos are added into the mix.

The Oreo Big Scoop Cookie Sundae is a cookie lover’s dream come true.

It is also available as a Sonic Blast, their equivalent of a Dairy Queen Blizzard or McDonald’s McFlurry.

“The OREO Big Scoop Cookie Dough Blast and Sundae take irresistibility to a whole new level. They have all the mouthwatering flavors anyone with a sweet tooth could ever wish for – an overload of chewy edible cookie dough, delicious chocolate chips and of course iconic OREO cookie pieces,” Scott Uehlein, vice president of product innovation and development for Sonic, said in a press release. “Why limit yourself when you can have your cookie dough and eat it, too?”

With springtime temperatures finally arriving, a sweet treat never sounds like a bad idea, and the immensely rich texture with all the deliciously gooey hot fudge and significant cookie dough element should be perfect for sharing with a friend.

It could also be the perfect way to finish off the new Mesquite Butter Bacon Cheeseburger, or be a good option for the kids while the adults try the hard seltzer options coming in May.

While the Sonic experience is fairly pandemic-friendly already, given the drive-in setting as customers stay in their cars, customers who prefer could order through the Sonic app for completely contactless payment and ordering.
