The Tournament of Champions chefs are a talented group that have a large amount of cooking competition experience. From Food Network titles to even Top Chef crowns, these talented chefs are ready to take on the bracket showdown. While randomizer is the equalizer, one competition element has the chefs wishing it would be eliminated.

Prior to the Tournament of Champions Season 2 premiere, the Tournament of Champions returns recap special revealed some behind the scenes elements to the Food Network show. While everyone tends to focus on the unique ingredients and limited cooking times, the real game changer was the kitchen equipment. It pushed the chefs beyond their comfort zone.

From the infamous ice cream machine to the microwave, the chefs had to find creative ways to use certain pieces of kitchen equipment. It isn’t that the chefs aren’t familiar with certain kitchen gadgets. The problem is using a certain item within all the randomizer’s parameters.

Although the first season of Tournament of Champions had many upsets, the second season could be equally as daunting. From the wild card rounds to the potential upset of number one seeds, the perfect bracket might be as elusive as using the spiralizer that is collecting dust in your kitchen cabinet.

While many of the same elements return, the Tournament of Champions chefs need to show their creativity. It isn’t just combining ingredients and flavors on a plate. It needs to be innovative. Every chef is capable of a great plate of food. These chefs need to deliver something big, bold and full of chef bravado.

In the end, there will be upsets. The Tournament of Champions chefs will have to tackle some kitchen equipment that they don’t like. There will be food and flavor combinations that are unconventional. All of those elements make this Food Network show entertaining and must watch food TV for everyone.
