Tournament of Champions Season 2 premiere: West Wild Card battle
In the Tournament of Champions Season 2 premiere, two wild card rounds determine the final match-up for the West bracket. Could these wild card winners bring a big upset in the popular Food Network culinary competition?
According to the Food Network, the Tournament of Champions Season 2 premiere, “West Coast Play In” features the following:
"Tournament of Champions is back! There were so many chefs clamoring to get into the bracket that Guy Fieri expanded the tournament to include two wild card play-in rounds. Four incredible chefs from the West compete in exciting sudden death culinary matches, and the last chef standing will win the coveted 8th seed in the West bracket."
While many of the big name chefs have been slotted into their bracket slot, few spaces remain. Although many chefs seem to be a favorite in the Tournament of Champions season 2, there will be some upsets along the way. Brooke Williamson might not be a clear favorite to retain her title belt.
At the same time, the Tournament of Champions Season 2 wild card rounds could have an advantage against some of the other chefs. Like many culinary competitions, being familiar with the rules and nuances of the competition can help certain chefs. Occasionally, the best prepared chef could earn the win.
Still, sudden death Food Network competitions do come with pressure. No chef wants to cook once and be escorted out of the kitchen.
In the end, the randomizer will determine each chef’s fate. The chef who can adapt and execute the best dish will make it into the main round. Everyone else will have to leave the Food Network kitchen.
