Give the classic brunch cocktail an upgrade with these flavorful mimosas ideas. While the sparkling wine and orange juice combination is a classic, sometimes even a favorite cocktail needs an update. With a few ingredient swaps, a great mimosa is waiting for you.

What makes a flavorful mimosa? Of course, the sparkling wine is key. Although everyone can debate on the best sparkling wine for a mimosa, it really comes down to personal preference. From sweeter wines to dry wines, the flavor profiles are almost too many to list.

With the sparkling wine chilled, the other ingredients could be even more important. No one wants to ruin a glass of sparkling wine with a poor tasting mixer. Just like a great cocktail tastes better with a superior mixer, the same idea applies to a mimosa.

What ingredients swaps can make more flavorful mimosas?

Although a mimosa is often sparkling wine and a juice, a few other ingredients can build even more flavor. In addition to fresh fruit, adding a mixer can reduce the alcohol level yet boost the flavor.

Recently, Q Mixers shared these two mimosa recipes that might become the new star of the brunch table.

Pomegranate Orange Mimosa

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces champagne
  • 1 ounce pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 ounce fresh orange juice
  • 4 ounces Q Mixers Ginger Beer
  • Pomegranate seeds and orange slice for garnish

Method:

  • In a chilled flute glass, add champagne, pomegranate juice, and orange juice. Top with Q Mixers Ginger Beer. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and orange slice.

Pomegranate juice adds a touch of tartness to the beverage. With the spicy notes from the Q Mixers Ginger Beer it is the perfect combination of spicy, tart and sweet.

Also, don’t forget the pomegranate seeds for garnish. Not only do they add a pop of color, but they are a tasty snack.

Raspberry Ginger Mimosa

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 ounce Chambord Liqueur
  • 2 ounces champagne
  • 1 ounce fresh orange juice
  • 4 ounces Q Mixers Ginger Beer

Method:

  • In a chilled flute glass, add Chambord, champagne and orange juice. Top with Q Mixers Ginger Beer. Garnish with a raspberry.

Adding a little Chambord to a mimosa is always a tasty choice. This version, which again adds the Q Mixers Ginger Beer, has the combination of sweet, tangy and spice.

Consider pairing this mimosa with a hearty hash or even an Eggs Benedict. The ginger notes can cut through the hearty brunch dish.
