As the finale gets closer. Spring Baking Championship Season 7 episode 8 has the bakers embracing many springtime traditions. Although the bakers want everything to come up roses in the Food Network kitchen, not everything is always picture perfect. Which baker planted the seeds to earn a spot in the finale?

According to Food Network, Spring Baking Championship Season 7 episode 8, “Spring Pastimes” features the following:

"Emerging from winter hibernation into spring, there are so many fun things to do! Host Ali Khan challenges the remaining bakers to make a fruity spring dessert in a skillet to enjoy around the campfire. Then each baker is assigned a wintry, indoor craft and tasked with creating a look-alike, spring-themed cake for judges Kardea Brown, Nancy Fuller and Duff Goldman."

Looking at the pre-heat challenge, the idea of a skillet dessert is something that many home bakers will want to see. This dessert isn’t limited to just camping. It can be the perfect ending to any meal.

Since this dessert is supposed to be fruity, it will be interesting to see how the bakers make creative fruit and flavor combinations. It is more than just fruit and cake. At this point in the competition, the bakers need to think outside of the skillet.

For the main heat, the bakers need to balance decoration and flavor. Even if that spring cake has beautiful flower decorations, the cake itself needs to be delicious. From a perfect crumb to the right amount of filling, flavor always trumps appearance.

Looking at the remaining bakers, picking a potential winner is difficult. After Veruska soared to a double victory in the last episode, she could be on a roll. On the other hand, Derek has been on the bottom recently, could it be time for his redemption?

In the end, any of the remaining bakers are worthy of the Spring Baking Championship crown. But, the finale isn’t here yet. Which Spring Pastimes will become a sweet memory for the bakers?
