After last week’s brew and brew (coffee and beer) duo challenge, Top Chef Season 18 episode 3 takes a twist that many savory chefs dread. Which chef finds a sweet reward in the Quickfire?

According to Bravo, Top Chef Season 18 episode 3, “Pan African Portland” features the following:

"The pressure is laid on the chefs in the Quickfire Challenge as they are tasked to make a layered dessert. Gregory and Kwame take the chefs on a tour of restaurants that feature from from the African diaspora."

Have you ever noticed that Top Chef tends to stay away from dessert? Even though the chefs might expect a dessert challenge, that spoonful of sugar can have many chefs feeling the shakes as they hold their knives.

While it doesn’t exactly say in this challenge, the chefs might be drawing some inspiration from a particular gelato brand in this dessert challenge.
