Frozen, on the rocks or in a bowl? That classic margarita is being transformed beyond the cocktail glass. It might be time to put down the cocktail shaker, unplug the blender and grab a spoon. On a hot day, this libation option could be a summer game changer.

Recently, Tanteo Tequila, Natalie’s Juice and Tipsy Scoop joined forces to celebrate the classic margarita in a different way. While many celebrated mixologists and bartenders put their creations to the test in a Mexican Stand Off competition, the cocktail creativity isn’t limited to the professional bar. Hasn’t the home bartender honed her skills?

From Cinco de Mayo to summer celebrations to perfect pairing to some spicy food, there is always a reason to enjoy a margarita. While the sour cocktail is delicious in its simplicity, it does lend itself to variations. From spicy to fruity to even savory, the list is long.

How are Tanteo Tequila, Natalie’s Juice and Tipsy Scoop shaking up the margarita?

Recently, Tanteo Tequila, Natalie’s Juice and Tipsy Scoop came together to celebrate that classic sour cocktail in a different way. Instead of just sipping the drink, it was time to grab a spoon.

To kick off the summer, Tipsy Scoop created two special flavors that featured Tanteo Tequila and Natalie’s Juice. While these frozen treats are not for the kids, adults might feel a festive after having a scoop or two. Although some people may want to eat directly from the pint, it might be best to enjoy these frozen treats judiciously.

One offering is the Tipsy Squeeze Ice Cream. Featuring “Natalie’s orange juice, fresh strawberry and Tanteo Blanco tequila,” this flavor is almost like a twist between a sorbet and a dreamsicle. Slightly tart, perfectly sweet and quite refreshing, it is a delight.

While this offering is available at Tipsy Scoop while supplies last, the reality is that this flavor combination could inspire a new margarita choice. Instead of a traditional sour, lime forward margarita, consider a combination of orange and strawberry, or even blood orange and raspberry. Finding new flavor combinations keeps the classic cocktail fresh.

The other flavor offered is the Spicy Fiesta and it can make your cheeks feel a little warm and tingly. Using Natalie’s margarita mix, Tanteo Jalapeno Tequila and Jalapeno key lime margarita sorbet, this frozen treat is just the right amount of spiciness. The slow burn is almost like a warm hug.

Thinking about this offering, it lends itself to a new version of a frozen margarita. Instead of blending the cocktail with ice, why not use a sorbet for a more luscious texture. Whether you use the Tipsy Scoop sorbet or another option, consider using that ingredient instead of ice in a blender. Instead of a watered down cocktail as the drink melts, each sip is more flavorful.
