Having grown up as vegetarians, the brothers are excited with all the newer plant-based food choices that are available. After having limited options of tofu and bean burgers for far too long, now the grocery shelves are filled with tasty choices.

Looking specifically at the Gardein brand, the company offers a plethora of plant-based food options. Beyond the typical fare, choices like a plant-based fish and plant-based beefless tips prove that these meat alternatives are as satisfying as the traditional options.

Ready to make the Chips and Guac Egg Rolls recipe?

During a recent cooking demo, the Potash Twins shared their recipe for Chip and Guac Egg Rolls. Using the Gardein Beefless Tips as the protein, this simple recipe could be the next dinner option for meatless Monday, Taco Tuesday or any day of the week.

In addition to the guac and Gardein, the recipe includes Street Corn. That ingredient boosts the flavor of the whole recipe. While the corn itself is sweet, the punch of the jalapenos adds that spice for balance. Even the touch of texture makes each bite more enjoyable.

Chips and Guac Egg Rolls recipe ingredients:

Street Corn Salsa

  • 1 jalapeno pepper, finely diced
  • 1 cup Corn, cooked and refrigerated
  • 2 ounces vegan Cotija cheese
  • 1 lime
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • kosher salt, to taste


  • 3 large ripe avocados
  • kosher salt
  • 1/2 small red onion
  • 1 lime

Egg Rolls:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pkg (9 oz each) Gardein® Home Style Beefless Tips
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 16 egg roll wrappers (7 inch square)
  • 1/2 cup water, for binding

Basically, the street corn, guacamole and Gardein Beefless Tips are combined into the egg roll wrappers. After carefully rolling and securing the egg roll, it is toasted in a skillet. Again, the complete method can be found online.

While this option uses egg roll wrappers, tortillas can be a substitute, too. Also, if you prefer a softer texture, it does not have to be crisped in a pan.
