SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream tempts guests with a frightful nighttime haunt
For the first time ever, SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream takes theme park guests on a frightening adventure. While the popular coasters like Mako and Ice Breaker will be running in the dark, the screams might not be coming from those big thrills. Could something be lurking around that corner?
Previously, SeaWorld Orlando has offered daytime Halloween events for its younger guests and families. With the launch of SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream, this nighttime event is meant for older guests who want that bigger fright.
According to the theme park, the separately ticketed, nighttime event will run on select dates from Friday, September 10 through Sunday, October 31. There will be a total of 27 weekend days that the event will be offered.
Building on the concept of having a special event every weekend of the year, SeaWorld Orlando Park President Kyle Miller, said “Adding Howl-O-Scream to the calendar provides the missing element of a fright-filled Halloween event that we know our guests will welcome. With this addition, we become the only theme park in Orlando to offer both a daytime family-friendly Halloween and a nighttime horror Halloween for thrill seekers.”
What can guests expect from SeaWorld Howl-O-Scream?
The special Halloween event will include haunted houses, scare zones, roaming haunts, frightful shows and haunted inspired food and beverage offerings. While exact details on the themes of the haunted houses and scare zones have not been shared, it begs the question, what lurks in the dark, deep water?
For some people, the unknown of what is hidden underwater can be the ultimate fright. From the morphing creatures to inability to escape from the lure of the deep, it seems likely that SeaWorld will build on its connection to water, nature and animals for its haunted houses and experiences. Even though there might not be a landshark ringing the doorbell, there might be an octopus waiting to capture guests within its grasp.
Given that Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream is considered a high intensity Halloween event, it will be interesting to see how SeaWorld approaches its first nighttime Halloween offering. Even though there are many family-friendly areas within the theme park, this event will be just for the adults.
Halloween is usually a busy time for theme parks. From Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights to Disney’s Boo Bash, there is a Halloween event for all ages and scare levels.
