The Girl Dad, Grill Dad has partnered with McCormick Grill Mates to show how dads are sharing their love of grilling with their daughters. Manning the flame isn’t just for the men in the household.

Father’s Day traditions come in many forms. While Mother’s Day can be a “day off,” dads sometimes prefer to step up to the grill and make dinner. Whether it is a recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation or a new take on an old favorite, there can be something satisfying about cooking food over a flame.

For Mark Consuelos, this year’s celebration comes with another layer of flavor. With his daughter Lola by his side, Consuelos shares how the holiday is the perfect time to strengthen their connection and help a worthy cause.

As part of the collaboration with McCormick Grill Mates, grill dads and girl dads are encouraged to share their grilling moments on social media. By joining the conversation, with the #GirlDadGrillDad challenge, the goal is to provide 1.5 million meals to Feeding America. Since food insecurity continues to impact the country, these programs help to raise funds and awareness for the issue.

What flavor Father’s Day grilling recipe will Mark Consuelos be making this year?

To build excitement for this partnership with McCormick Grill Mates, Consuelos shared a new and exclusive recipe, Garlic & Herb Grilled Halibut Skewers. While the recipe is relatively simple to master, the flavors are a little bold and spicy.

Featuring the McCormick Grill Mates garlic seasoning, that flavor plays well with the halibut. Given that the halibut is packed with Omega-3s, it is healthy choice for grilling. The white fish picks up all the flavors of the garlic and the char from the grill.

Served with shishito peppers and cherry tomatoes, there is a contrast of sweet and heat. Just be cautious. Sometimes those shishito peppers can have a little extra kick.
