Krispy Kreme celebrates turning 84 with a birthday doughnut and offer
It isn’t just a birthday day, it’s a BirthYAY at Krispy Kreme. To mark its 84th birthday, the Krispy Kreme birthday doughnut has everyone celebrating. Grab your party hat, cup of coffee and toast to making it through another year.
On July 16, Krispy Kreme is celebrating its birthday with a huge special offer. According to Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for Krispy Kreme, “For our 84th birthday, we’re giving our amazing fans a special doughnut and a great deal to celebrate with delicious, melt in-your-mouth doughnuts.”
To mark the occasion, the BirthYAY dozen is just $1 when purchased with another dozen doughnuts. Featured in the $1 dozen is a special Krispy Kreme strawberry iced BirthYAY sprinkle doughnut. After all, celebration requires at least some sprinkles.
While the Krispy Kreme birthday doughnut sounds tasty, there are other doughnuts on the menu that have a celebratory feel too. For example, the cake batter filled doughnut is definitely a party in your mouth. From the kreme filling to the fun confetti topping, this doughnut can turn any day into a celebration.
And, many people love the chocolate glazed with sprinkles. It might be a classic, but it still feels special. Maybe it is just those sprinkles. Why not make a dozen doughnuts filled with sprinkles.
This year has been a big one for Krispy Kreme. Each month, the limited-edition flavors are more and more creative. From the fruit forward offerings to the OREO doughnut, there has been no shortage of reasons to answer the call of that Red Hot Light.
Looking ahead to the fall and the holidays, it seems likely that the creative flavors will continue. Although pumpkin spice flavors will likely be part of the menu, it might be nice if the brand takes a different approach. From some apple cider to salted caramel to maybe even some savory forward or spice influenced options might be nice. Even though Krispy Kreme doesn’t necessarily push the boundaries to the extreme, the food creativity is definitely on display.
