Crime Scene Kitchen episode 8 is the semi-final round and these bakers are feeling the pressure. With the finale within their reach, a few teams might start to crumble under the pressure. Did tears in the batter make that cake fall?

According to FOX, Crime Scene Kitchen episode 8, “Fight Until the Batter End” features the following:

"The bakers head back into the kitchen to take on a new delicious challenge. The best dessert detectives will continue on in the competition and the duo that falls short will head home in the all-new “Fight Until the Batter End” episode of CRIME SCENE KITCHEN airing Wednesday, July 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX."

Looking at the five remaining teams, everyone has done a good job solving the clues. Even though last week’s episode showed Cathy and Thomas, a front runner, make a huge mistake, most of the teams have been finding their stride in this competition. But, even the best teams can have a bad day in the Crime Scene Kitchen.

Still, this competition seems to be leading towards a few teams making the finale. Overall, Thomas and Cathy have won the most challenges during the season. Also, Leslie and Emma have made some impressive showpieces and seem to be able to solve the most difficult clues. Lastly, Luis and Natalie have used their Las Vegas flair to impress the judges. These three teams should make the finale.

At the same time, any team can be eliminated at any time. If the clues lead one team down the wrong path, it might be time to put that stand mixer to bed. Unlike the child in the home kitchen, there are no amount of tears that can change anyone’s mind.

In this week’s episode, Ken Jeong joins the judges. Since he and Joel McHale are good friends, everyone should expect some witty banter. How Jeong’s choice for a favorite dessert will impact the baking competition remains to be seen.
