Have you been eagerly devouring every announcement about the upcoming Star Wars hotel? The Galactic Starcruiser prices have just been revealed. After people get over the sticker shock, how quickly will these rooms get booked?

Although guests will not be leaving on this epic getaway until Spring 2022 and bookings are not yet available, Disney did release the cost for a 2-day adventure. For 2 people, the starting price is substantial, over $4,800.  For a family of four, the cost is about $6,000.

Now, most people expected that the cost would be significant. Just staying on Disney property can be more expensive that booking another hotel in the entertainment district. Still, this cost might limit who can book this type of Star Wars experience.

While some diehard fans will be counting their pennies to buy this exclusive ticket, it begs the question who is that target audience. Even though the cost for a family to visit Disney is never going to be considered cheap, the reality is that this price tag may make this epic adventure almost unattainable. Just like that trip on a Virgin Galactic getaway, this trip might be just for an elite few.

Even though many people will be willing to pay for this experience, others might be hoping that the prices readjust after a period of time. Just like crowds fluctuate after a new ride debuts, the same could happen several years down the line. But, that idea is full of optimistic speculation.

Still for those who can afford the cost, it could be an adventure of a lifetime  from the specially designed rooms to the dining experiences to the direct access to Galaxy’s Edge, this fully immersive Star Wars experience might spark a new direction for theme parks and their associated hotels

While all Disney hotel properties have a particular theme, this type of fully immersive character experience is different. Depending on the response, who is to say that other ideas couldn’t happen in the future. Some food lovers might want to wake up in Remy’s Ratatouille world and others might want to sleep under the bioluminescent sky in Pandora. The options seem to be limitless.

For now, start that out of this world savings fund to book a trip because the Galactic Starcruiser prices are not for just any bounty hunter.
