While she might have sought love on the Bachelor and the Bachelorette, Ali Fedotowsky has found happiness on her own terms. As mother and wife, she appreciates that making the right choice doesn’t always have to be a struggle. With a little guidance, everyone can find their best life.

Although many people watch the Bachelor and Bachelorette as entertainment, Fedotowsky looks back at the experience and see a bigger picture. When asked about the a life lesson that she had from the show, Fedotowsky responded with the following.

“When I was on the Bachelor I ended up leaving the show to go back to my job. It wasn’t just any job, it was my DREAM job at Facebook. One that I had worked for for a very long time and absolutely loved! And I’m really proud of the fact that I made the decision to choose myself and something I loved for myself over a relationship that wasn’t quite choosing just me yet. So I hope my kids one day take away that it’s most important to love yourself and take care of yourself. And then hopefully you’ll meet someone in your life who wants to support you along that journey.”

Finding that supportive person isn’t just a life partner. Having people in your corner is vital for everyone. Many moms appreciate that being able to have some time for themselves is important.

As a busy mom, Fedotowsky has a few ideas on making that mom time a priority. Fedotowsky said, “I think the best thing to do is just ask for help from those around you. One of my favorite quotes is “if you don’t ask the answer is always no.” So ask a friend or family member if they be able to help out so you can go for a hike or go to a quiet lunch alone. And then offer to help them out in some way in return. You’ll not only be getting the help you need but you’ll be helping someone else as well”

That idea of being able to find a little bit a balance isn’t just limited to mom time. Food balance and healthy eating choices are important, even with the hectic mom life. Sometimes a great mom hack can make meal time even more enjoyable.

Fedotowsky shared her favorite mom hack. Specifically stating, “I often find that the time my kids are most likely to mindlessly eat is when they’re watching TV or movies. They always want a snack to munch on while their eyes are preoccupied with the screen. I realized one day that it’s the ideal time to get them some extra nutrition – so instead of microwaving popcorn, I microwave Birds Eye Steamfresh Broccoli Florets for them, pop them into a bowl and bam! Kids enjoying vegetables!”

While that idea is simple, Fedotowsky appreciates that families need recipes that fit into that busy lifestyle. Sometimes having various options readily available makes everything easier.

When asked, Fedotowsky said, “Being on the go with two kids definitely leaves little to no time to always ensure nutrition is a key component of my family dinners. One of my tricks is to always keep my freezer stocked with frozen vegetables from Birds Eye that I can easily pull out, steam in the bag and use as a side or an ingredient. One of my go-to recipes where Birds Eye comes in CLUTCH is Coconut Chickpea Curry – a one pan dish that’s super quick, easy and packed with nutrition. In some ways taking that first step to take charge of your health needs to be a priority. Fedotowsky has been a proponent of being proactive when it comes to health.

She believes, “I just think life gets so busy that sometimes our health becomes low on our list of priorities. And I don’t mean if you’re sick or you have a smaller health problem. I’m warning and mean screenings for health. Like more people are willing to go to a dentist if they have a toothache but how many people go for a regular check ups? You know? So I just think it’s really important for people to go to the dentist, get their skin checked, go to their primary care physician. Doing those things has helped me avoid some health issues that could’ve gotten more serious if they weren’t discovered. I like to remind people to make their doctor visits a priority even if they’re feeling healthy.”

Still, sometimes a little confidence can be that boost to help all aspects of life. From being the foundation of a strong relationship to appreciating self worth, it is about the total person.

Fedotowsky said, “My number one tip of advice for anybody who is looking for a relationship is that if you meet someone and there’s any sort of games involved whatsoever…you’re wasting your time. When I started dating my husband there was no games. I didn’t have to ask a girlfriend if I should text back right away or not because I didn’t want to seem too eager. I texted him when I wanted to. I told him I loved him exactly when I wanted to. When we first started dating I think we would text back-and-forth all day long because we couldn’t wait to hear from each other. There were no games. So, if you meet someone, text them as much as you want. Call them when you want. If they think that’s weird or you are acting too eager than that’s not the relationship for you.
