Peacock breaks all the rules with the new Snoop and Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween Special. While many people are always intrigued with the dynamic pair of Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart, this new Peacock seasonal special pushes the pair to a new level. Viewers might want an extra helping of this Halloween special.

Recently, FoodSided spoke to Casey Kriley and Jo Sharon, Co-CEOs of Magical Elves and Executive Producers for Snoop and Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween special. During the spirited conversation, the pair shared some insight on the Halloween special that might take foodies by surprise.

For those unfamiliar the new Peacock program is in collaboration with BuzzFeed and features Tasty food content creator Alvin Zhou. The trio presents an interesting mix in this Halloween treat.

When asked about the camaraderie between the trio, Kriley and Sharon both commented that the group worked well together. Specifically, it was clear that Snoop and Martha get along and enjoy working together. After having done other programs togethers, it is clear that “they know exactly what they are doing.”

While the “constant professionals” were a given, adding a new co-host to the mix can change the vibe. Still Kriley and Sharon believe that Zhou fit in perfectly. In a way, they felt that the trio “made it feel more real.” Even adding Zhou was an unknown factor, there was “approachability factor” which makes the show even more appealing to the viewer.

What makes Snoop and Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween Special different?

Although there are many food Halloween programs that fill the schedule, Kriley and Sharon know that they have created something very different. Beyond the factor that being on Peacock allows them to push the boundaries in a different way, this show looks to impress everyone and will have them talking long after the show premieres.

After looking at the landscape of everything that has been made, they realized that there hadn’t been a show on this scale and scope previously. Although it took effort and planning to create this large scale construct, the pair believe that all the effort was definitely worth it.

From the concept to the creation of the gigantic edible world, it is a frightening fantasy come to life. As the “Scare Squads” create that fully sensory, immersive life-size Halloween world, it not only gives these teams of three bakers permission to dream big, but the co-hosts reactions are priceless.

Some concessions were made in order to make these gigantic spooky worlds come to life, like giving the teams permission to create pieces prior to the start of the on-set competition. But, the team believes that this concession is vital to getting the most authentic experience. Even though there is that ticking clock lurking in the background, there is still that pressure of performing in the moment. A little pressure might be removed, but at the same time, the expectations of the final product could be heightened.

Beyond the impressive visuals that will make people’s mouths drop, the reality is that the show is about the people. As Sharon said, “they started with the premises that exceptional people.” Once those creatives were in place, anything could and should be possible.

With two aspects in the challenge, there was no hiding in a safe zone. As Kirley shared, the teams not only had to create an “edible experience” but also a “perfectly tasty treat.” That ability to deliver on all fronts is key to earning all the glory.

Although the teams did not know their party hosts, Snoop, Martha and Zhou before the challenge, the interactions once the teams appreciate the reveal is priceless. Even though there might be a little added pressure to impress, that audience makes it more engaging.

Since this Peacock show is in partnership with BuzzFeed and Tasty, the crossover is perfect for the view. Putting aside a how-to moment, this show gives glimpses of ideas to bring anyone’s Halloween gathering. Even if no one is creating a 12 x 12 edible, haunted world, there are a few ideas that anyone can adopt on their Halloween table.

Without ruining all the twists, turns and terrors in the special event, be sure to watch Snoop and Martha’s Very Tasty Halloween Special on Peacock. The new Halloween special debuts on October 21.
